Volunteer Handy-Folks Needed

Help is needed for setting up the stage for the Fashion Show.

If you are someone who owns and/operates a
1)  cordless drill/screwdriver
2)  a level and/or
3) high test industrial quality staple guns

then you should consider helping us build the stage.  We will start at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 10th, (fashion show day)    Please contact Mr. Flello at  dflello@sd61.bc.ca and we will build a team.

Fashion Show information!!

Tickets are on sale from Mr. Flello and Ms. Sullivan for $10.  Please come, support the music program, enjoy some dessert served by band students, and watch a great fashion show with casual wear (first half) and formal wear modelled by GRADS of 2012 (with a couple of special guests).

  1. VOLUNTEER INFORMATION:  First of all, a HUGE thank you to the stores that contributed items, to Tammy, Trish and Heather for taking the lead, and Laura, Bobbi and Marilyn for helping with all the coordination this takes.  If you have volunteered, or your son/daughter has, here are some times and information for you:
    1. Table setters:  After school Friday Feb 10
    2. Hall monitors, back door security etc., please arrive at 6:00 pm
    3. Food servers (student and adult) please arrive at 6:30 (students in their band uniforms)
    4. Ticket people:  6:00 pm please
    5. Clean-up crew:  Since the show lasts about 2 hours, clean-up will begin after 9:00 pm
    6. STILL WANT TO VOLUNTEER?  Please email Laura Kaiser  laura.kaiser@shaw.ca and she would be happy to help you find a job that suits!
    7. A NOTE ABOUT TICKETS:  the fashion show this year is being run on a cost recovery basis, as opposed to a “Fundraiser”.  It is a way for the community of music students, parents and teachers to come together to do something different, enjoy a social time out and recognize and support the dedication of the students, parents and staff who volunteer to put this great event together.  We know the organizers have put in hours and hours soliciting donations, looking at costs, and trying to make the event a “classy, yet inexpensive”  evening.  So, for ALL volunteers, if you wish to sit and watch the show (even for half) and have dessert, you will need to purchase a ticket.  The servers are not able to have dessert (unless there are items left at the end of the evening) since they will be busy serving the food and therefore they do not need a ticket.  Grads will not be able to eat either, since they will be getting ready and then walking the runway after the intermission with food.  If Grade 9 to 11 models would like to stay for the second half and sit at the tables and enjoy dessert, they will need a ticket.  If they want to see the second half, but not purchase a ticket, they will be able to sit around the sides of the gym at no cost.  Hope everyone understands…

Finally,  some people are concerned about fitting times, and organizing around rehearsals etc.  If you have any questions, please email Tammy MacKenzie  mackenzies@shaw.ca , Trish Puckett trpuckett@shaw.ca or Heather Simonson hsimonson@shaw.ca

Tree Recycling – Thank You

Thank You Alpine Disposal

A big Reynolds thank you to Stu Young and the staff at Alpine Disposal for the donation of the bins for tree recycling.  Thanks to the success of the fundraiser, they agreed, on very short notice, to dispatch a truck to collect and replace a full bin.

Alpine has been helping us for years, and we appreciate their generosity.

Reynolds Tree Recycling Fundraiser – starts today.

Be sure to spread the word to friends, family, co-workers and neighbours.  Download the attached tree recycling for posting and post on bulletin boards at work or your community centres.  This is one of our our biggest fundraisers and it is so important to get the word out!
